A Certified SOA Governance Specialist has demonstrated proficiency in defining, establishing, and evolving governance frameworks, precepts, and processes in support of organizational and technological SOA governance requirements.
To be considered an expert in this field requires proven knowledge of how governance rules, policies, and practices are incorporated within SOA initiatives and how they are separated from, yet still related to, aspects such as management and methodology.
As a field of practice, SOA governance encompasses and affects planning considerations, such as SOA adoption scope, domain definition, funding models, organizational structures, and the creation of an independent governance office – as well as on-going project considerations, including service lifecycle evolution, project roles, review and appeal processes, versioning and configuration management, and selection of governance-related vendor technology.
Certified SOA Governance Specialists have attained project-ready proficiency to define, execute, and maintain SOA governance strategies and plans and to ensure their on-going effectiveness in support of achieving the goals of SOA initiatives.
