Arcitura Education Committee Charter

The SOA Certified Professional (SOACP) program from SOASchool.com® (hereinafter known as "SOA School"), and the Certified Cloud Professional (CCP) program from CloudSchool.com™ (hereinafter knows as “Cloud School”) are dedicated to excellence in service sciences, service-oriented architecture, service technologies, service-orientation, service-oriented computing and cloud computing. The Arcitura Education Committee (hereinafter know as the "Committee") warrants that all SOA and Cloud School course materials, delivery mechanisms, and certification exams that comprise the SOACP and CCP programs are of the highest industry standard, quality, and value, and maintain a consistent focus providing education and qualification standards that reflect the respected fields within the IT industry from a vendor-neutral perspective.


Charge

The Committee is composed of three Service Units that provide oversight related to the curriculum, delivery, and certification of the SOACP and CCP programs. The roles and responsibilities of these Service Units are as follows:

Curriculum

The Curriculum Services Unit is responsible for ensuring that the instructional materials used by SOA School and Cloud School remain vendor-neutral and in constant alignment with current state of the art and practice.

Delivery

The Delivery Services Unit provides oversight of the instructional delivery of the SOACP and CCP programs, to include: offline, online and face-to-face delivery mechanisms. The assessment of the student evaluations, the student evaluation mechanism and examination results inform the work of this Service Unit. Ultimately, the correlation of student performance across delivery channels is managed to verify that independent of the underlying delivery mechanism, students are successful in mastering the curriculum.

Certification

The Certification Services Unit provides the assessment of the certification examinations. Assessment services include the review of examination questions for the purposes of ensuring relevance and alignment with the curriculum, and general interpretability by ESOL students. Periodic review of student performance on the certification examinations will be analyzed for the purposes of detecting trends in regard to overall test performance, as well as the identification of required improvements or updates to existing questions.


Membership

The members of the Committee are appointed by the Chair of the Committee (hereinafter known as the "Chair") with advisement from SOA School and Cloud School and current Committee members. Committee candidates are collected and reviewed by the Committee using the following working notions for membership.

Membership Eligibility

  • Members from the academic community have demonstrated proficiency related to both course development and delivery with a focus on relevant topics.
  • Each member from the vendor community represent a primary organization in a relevant technology sector and will have demonstrated expertise with their organization's products and technologies.
  • Members from the commercial community will have acquired direct experience with relevant assignments.
  • Members from governmental organizations should be associated with or oversee relevant initiatives.

Candidates affiliated with other training and accreditation programs may not be eligible due to conflicts of interest.

Committee Composition

  • There is intentional diversity in the organizations and agencies represented by Committee members. They represent small and large companies, local, state and federal agencies, and representative colleges and universities.
  • Committee membership is not necessarily distributed in proportion to technical, industry, or agency sector size.
  • Committee membership emphasizes technical and experiential depth over breadth.
  • Committee membership is international in scope and representation.

Committee membership is categorized into three types:

Regular Members

The Committee shall consist of a minimum of seven and a maximum of sixteen regular members. The regular members of the Committee shall be jointly appointed by the Chair with the advice and consent of the current members of the Committee and with nominations solicited from various constituents.

Individuals nominated for regular membership on the committee should have distinguished and continuing records of noteworthy contributions and leadership in relevant fields. Committee members are asked to serve for three years after which reappointments may be made, if deemed appropriate, for additional terms. The initial terms of office shall be staggered to ensure continuity.

Emeritus Members

The Chair, with the advice and consent of the members of the Committee, may grant emeritus membership to any regular member who has made sustained contributions over a period of at least two terms. Emeritus appointments are honorary appointments for life. Emeritus members are invited to attend all Committee meetings.

Adjunct Members

The Chair, with the advice and consent of the Committee, may appoint non-voting adjunct members to the Committee for the purpose of broadening the base of expertise of the Committee and to gain perspectives useful to the Committee and the Arcitura program. Adjunct members shall serve two-year terms.

The Committee shall have three Service Unit Chairs appointed from the membership to lead key areas of Committee responsibility. They shall be appointed by the Chair biennially from among the regular members and shall serve as the Executive Committee.


Responsibility

Committee members are responsible for actively participating in the charge. Members work under the direction of the Chair and the leadership of the Service Unit Chairs.


Executive Committee

The Executive Committee is comprised of the Chair, Co-Chair and Service Unit Chairs.

The Executive Committee shall:

  • Strive to a annually determine the matters that the Committee should consider and take action on during the year.
  • Prepare and distribute agenda items at least 15 days prior to each Committee meeting.
  • Meet at the call of the Chair when an important matter needs consideration prior to the next meeting.

Meetings

The Committee shall strive to meet quarterly. Meetings may be virtual or in person.


Authority

The Committee serves in an advisory capacity and does not exercise any executive authority.


Confidentiality

All material and discussions are confidential unless otherwise specified in writing. Members may be required to sign a non-disclosure agreement with Arcitura Education Inc.


Liability

The members of the committee do not assume any liability, explicit or implied, for their contributions or lack thereof.


Endorsement

Committee members and their affiliated organizations are not required or expected to publicly endorse Arcitura Education Inc. or any programs or products offered by Arcitura Education in any way.


Remuneration

No remuneration is provided to Committee members; however, access to the Arcitura materials, Prometric exams, instructor-led workshops, and related events may be provided to active Committee members free of charge. This benefit is not transferable.


Reimbursements

If travel is requested by Arcitura Education, associated travel and communication costs will be covered by Arcitura Education with prior approval for expenditures.
